Welcome! I’m Teacher Philippe, the founder and lead Dutch language instructor at Dutch Academy Eindhoven.

For over 15 years, I have dedicated my career to helping international professionals, expats, and students master the Dutch language quickly, naturally, and confidently. Holding a formal NT2 Teaching Diploma from the University of Antwerpen, my mission is to make learning Dutch accessible, intuitive, and directly applicable to daily life and career growth in the Netherlands.

Having personally guided more than 1,000 students from over 50 countries—from absolute beginners to intermediate levels and Civic Integration preparation—I understand the unique challenges expats face when relocating to the Brainport Eindhoven region.

My Vision Behind the Simple Dutch Method:
Traditional language courses often focus too heavily on abstract grammar rules and rote memorization, leaving students feeling overwhelmed when trying to hold a real conversation.

To solve this, I developed Simple Dutch—our proprietary, licensed teaching method and course book used exclusively at Dutch Academy Eindhoven.

Why I Created Simple Dutch?
Visual Learning Focus: Complex Dutch grammar rules are simplified into visual, easy-to-digest formats. Every classroom is equipped with screen technology so students can simultaneously hear, see, and retain new vocabulary.

Real-World Application: Lessons emphasize practical speaking, writing, and active participation rather than just passive reading.

Spaced Repetition & Small Groups: With class sizes limited to 8–12 students, every student gets direct feedback and regular review sessions to lock in knowledge effortlessly.

If all my language courses in the past would have this kind of an approach of teaching, I would be fluent in many languages by now! Very intensive course with a lot of additional study materials.
